Course Objectives

• To consider strategies to develop students' thinking and reasoning skills
• To consider the skills require to be successful in GCSE Mathematics as well as in a wider context as a problem solver and independent learner
• To look at resources and activities to help develop thinking and reasoning skills.

GCSE Maths allocates 25% of the marks to reasoning based questions, yet this area of mathematics continues to evade many students.
This course aims to look at strategies to build up these skills in students, including use of interleaving.
The course is suitable for all teachers of mathematics in the secondary sector.

This course can be booked as part of the ‘Book three get the fourth for free’. This offer applies only to full day Secondary specific courses for English, Maths, Science, behaviour and Attendance which are marked as such. Network meetings and Senior Leader briefings are NOT included in this offer. The discount will be applied at the point the fourth place or course from your school is booked. This offer runs through the academic year 2018-19 only.
