Gaps in attainment between disadvantaged and non-disadvantaged students continue to be a concern across the country. The government has identified this as a key area for development in ensuring outcomes and opportunities for all our young people are comparable no matter what their background.
This course looks at ways to help students from disadvantaged backgrounds perform as well as their peers in mathematics. It considers both long term and shorter term strategies.
Who should attend: This course is aimed at mathematics teachers in the secondary phase.
This course can be booked as part of the ‘Book three get the fourth for free’. This offer applies only to full day Secondary specific courses for English, Maths, Science, Learning and Teaching which are marked as such. Network meetings and Senior Leader briefings are NOT included in this offer. The discount will be applied at the point the fourth place or course from your school is booked. Option B: Total cost- £460 (10% reduction) Course plus consultant delivery of the key course messages as a twilight to staff
Option C:Total cost- £400 (14% reduction) Course plus bespoke half day consultancy to follow up and support development and implementation back in school.
The consultancy might focus on:
• Working with a department to identify and prioritise students for intervention
• Helping a department identify appropriate intervention strategies for your cohorts
