•Explore the legal processes around the exclusion of pupils from schools/academies.
•Review the Governing Board's legal obligations around exclusions, particularly for a child/student at risk of permanent exclusion.
•Examine and explain the guidance around exclusion from school
•Provide advice and guidance on the probing questions the governors appeal committee need to ask before, during and after the discipline meetings to ensure that school/the academy have provided sufficient support prior to the exclusion
•Explore good practice to highlight the range of interventions and reasonable adjustments that may be used to prevent exclusion.
Schools which have bought into the Service Level Agreement will receive this course for free as part of their package but will be charged £25 for non-attendance. Schools which have not bought in to the SLA will be charged the full course fee.
