Course Objectives

1. To provide guidance on assessing evidence for Communication and language development and Mathematics (Shape, Space and Measure and Number)
2. To participant in agreement trialling of evidence for Communication and language development and Mathematics (Shape, Space and Measure and Number). Workshops will provided Practitioners with extended opportunities to discuss the evidence that they bring with colleagues.
3. To moderate judgements made for Communication and language development and Mathematics (Shape, Space and Measure and Number)

This half day training session will focus upon the Early Learning Goals, Communication and language development and Mathematics (Shape, Space and Measure and Number). During the session there will be the opportunity for participants to take part in agreement trialling as well as moderation of their own evidence.
We ask that each participant brings along with them some evidence for;
ELG 2– Understanding
ELG 11 – Number
ELG 12 – Shape, space and measure
NB The evidence for one child or it may be from two or three different children. The practitioner attending the course can decide.
This course will support Teacher Assessment for the EYFS. It will enable practitioners to be confident and accurate in their judgements against ELGs at the end of the Reception Year. The course does not replace any statutory moderation that the school may be asked to undertake.
