Course Objectives

• To introduce KLIPS and how they can be used to accurately assess children in English and Maths
• To look at assessment practices in a world without National Curriculum Levels
• To benchmark standards in English and Maths using KLIPS

Are you an NQT or returning teacher? Does your school use KLIPS? If so then this half day course may be for you!

KLIPS (Key Learning Indicators of Performance) were developed in response to the abolition of National Curriculum Levels. They are now widely used in and beyond Lancashire to help teachers make assessments of attainment in Maths and English.

This course will provide an overview of KLIPS, their content and a suggested approach. Participants will have the opportunity to look at samples of work and their related KLIPS judgements to assist with benchmarking including the new KLIPS exemplification for Maths.

This course may also be useful for Teachers/Headteachers who would like a refresher on the use of KLIPS.
