Hope Streets is a fantastic 5 year project aimed at turning young people (aged 11-25) into revolutionaries of change. Museums are seen as dull and boring, you can change that. The project aims to give the people involved a range of amazing skills, opportunities and experiences, as well as influencing and changing how museums and heritage sites are interpreted, presented and run. We want your voices to be heard and we want you to make a difference.
You get to produce your own festival. There is no catch. This is epic. The theme of the festival is 'Hope', beyond that, you have control over it. Who is it for? What can people do there? What other venues will you use? Will there be music, activities, demonstrations, performances? You decide. We're there to support, guide and mentor, but you choose the direction. During 2019 you will be offered workshops, visits and trips out to various places to help you develop your skills and ideas, and meet different people who could be involved. The festival will take place at Clitheroe Castle and Gawthorpe Hall in the summer of 2020.
